Blogger buries newsworthy story

Blogger/teleplay writer Denis McGrath, a longtime Tea Makers favourite, withheld the news of an H1N1 outbreak (“now… I guess it can be told”) on the Republic of Doyle set until a legitimate media outlet reported it. (That outlet was the CBC.) Meanwhile, DMcG has left the employ of another Canadian show (after fulfilling most contractual obligations).

No, dear Anonymoose, that is not the purpose of the posting. Is DMcG a teleplay writer with a blog? a writer who blogs? a blogger with a sideline job?

His blog is not the vaunted writers’ “room,” which, he has told us before, must remain sacrosanct. It’s a publication medium. If he is or was the showrunner and the entire production gets shut down because of H1N1, why does he wait to use his own blog to disclose that? Particularly if, as you say, it’s all over teh intarwebs?

Try rereading the post. It’s a single graf; it won’t take long. The post does not say what you think it does. And you must have me mistaken for the Tweet Makers. I don’t really follow “the Twitter.”
