Not ‘Republic of jDoyle’

Corpse greenlights Newfoundland (“and Labrador”) private-dick series Republic of Doyle, but nobody wants to talk about it.

Also greenlit, this report in the Globe and Mail states implies: 18 to Life, The B Team, Throwing Stones, “and Abroad, a TV movie based on the experiences of Globe and Mail columnist Leah McLaren.” But of those, only 18 to Life and Republic of Doyle actually got “picked up.”

What do you know, the Globe got it righter than the so outside the loop-you-can’t see the loop from here losers at Teamakers. Where are those greenlights for Abroad, BTeam, and Throwing Stones, boys? Now, where they implied or inferred? Or are you just a bunch of wanks?

For an blog post that states “nobody wants to talk about it,” you sure have mulled over ROP very well. I am interested to see where it all goes and even though you don’t claim to be, I have a sneaking suspicion you’re curious too. Be sure to keep me informed with all your non-information!

And we did it without any help from you, Igor.
(did you notice he used the word “awesome”, joe?)

    “The implication triggered my inference.”

There is no implication at all. Get your trigger checked.

Also: Surprise! I have never actually met Allan. It’s awesome how badly you two have been able to fuck this blog into the ground using the ‘dead drop’ method.

While I did have a sore throat in January, I have no “sickness,” and the correction you see is the correction you’re getting. We’ll just see who’s proven right, shall we not?

Also: Surprise! I have never actually met Allan.

Pitch perfect example of your sickness. Would take nothing at this point to simply say, “whoops, regret the error.” But you can’t. Bad info, bad editors, bad mojo all around…just you and Allan circle jerking each other into eternity.

  • Fake Ouimet says:

The implication triggered my inference. I don’t know what your triggers are.

post as many quote as you like, producing a pilot and “greenlighting” are still two different things.

    No “implication” involved.

CBC, ABC team up on 18 to Life,Posted by: Diane in Uncategorized

“For the CBC to have ABC invest and collaborate in the pilot for an all-Canadian half-hour comedy series is truly remarkable,” remarked Kirstine Layfield, CBC’s executive director of network programming. “It’s a great tribute to all the talented Canadian writers, actors and producers that we are now making television series that are being sold to U.S. and international broadcasters and watched by audiences around the world.”

TORONTO — The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. is ready to pick up locally produced single-camera comedy “18 to Life,” even with pilot partner ABC out of the picture.

No I’m unclear of the value of a linkblog where the fifty word intro manages to get the substance of the article wrong once, then is corrected and still gets it wrong. I thought you were supposed to read the articles first.

The article does not imply that the other pilots were greenlit. It says they were ordered last fall. Which they were. It states that Doyle has been greenlit. And it says that the rest of the shows’ fates will be confirmed by CBC next week.

But at least you’re nice to horses.

  • Allan says:

Horses are regarded as a noble animal, unlike this commenter. He’s very familiar with ‘beating a dead horse’ as in constantly using a word that I think goes over the line of fairness. His opinion and the concept of personal responsibility bear no relation to one another.

  • Fake Ouimet says:

Actually, I’m very kind to horses. And you seem to be unclear on the concept of a linkblog.

  • Allan says:

The Globe text is a bit tricky, but has it not been known for some time that 18 To Life is a go?

You know if you guys are going to play at re-shovelling news stories the least you can do is blurb the article right.

The above were all pilots produced last year. The article says that Doyle has been greenlit for series. That’s all. The others are not “greenlit. ” You need to brush up on your TV terminology, or stop using it.

I imagine that the CBC will announce their intentions on their schedule, not the Teamakers. In the meantime, why don’t you guys go back to what you do well? Beating a dead horse for no reason.

  • Allan says:

There’s a reason for the secrecy.
    A behind-the-scenes, what-was-management-thinking secrecy.
Perhaps the CBC will explain it later this week.
