‘Intelligence’ goes to Global

Like, finally: Corpse-shitcanned critics’ darling Intelligence is heading to the amber airwaves of grain. Chris Haddock spat out a press release today (PDF only; go look it up yourselves) announcing that Global, the network that brought us Train 48 (also ET Canada), upped for a 13-ep run with second through ninth windows on Showcase, Showcase Action, BBC Canada, IFC, TVtropolis, Mystery, MenTV, and Scream. They’re gonna stream episodes at GlobalTV.com (embedded ads, Windows Media only), plus the Other Solitude gets a dubbed version on Séries+ and Historia. And – surely the pièce de résistance – the show will get the full CSI treatment on History Television, with all-day Intelligence marathons the weekend of September 19–20.

Of course I’m surprised. Even John Wells couldn’t sell the show down in Hollywood. But I looked Haddock up on MSN and he told me “its real… any port in a storm i always say.” I asked the U.S. embassy and Jeff Keay, but they wouldn’t comment.

So this is good news, right? Yeah, except: Conservative blog Small Dead Animals reports that Global execs insisted that series lead Klea Scott be swapped out for blonde funnygirl Carla Collins, star of the new Carlawood on Canwest property TVtropolis. (SDA commenter: “I know a guy from headquarters and he was saying the feeling was ‘bit too schwartzer for a series lead.’ ”) I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about – Intel plus Da Kink in My Hair would make a perfect CanCon double-header, would it not?

Reardon lives, bitches.
