Not their kind of people

We’ve already been excommunicated by CBC publicists and their hired guns. Now people aren’t even telling us about fangirl screenings. Fatboy got to go, though.

Did you not read what Peter said? The event had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CBC, but for the show that was being discussed. I work at the CBC (if not for long) and though I would have quite enjoyed it, but I didn’t head about it either.

People who work @CBC heard about it after. It’s not a public event. It’s a TV writers’ event. Stop thinking everything people do is just to piss you off or ostracize you.

It’s hard to have much sympathy given your attitude and responses.

PARANOID PEOPLE are just like everybody else.
They’re just acting on better information.

Peter, I understand that, in retrospect. (BTW, the Camera Bar Web site had no mention of the event.) I don’t mind inside-baseball events like these. I do mind not finding out about them till afterward, as though they were deliberately set up to keep outsiders uninformed of their existence.

I am well more than half as intelligent, insightful, and constructive as DMcG (again, his real initials), and have 20 years of publishing history to prove it. He works in a different industry. Let’s not compare apples to watermelons.

The Being Erika screening is something organized by writers for writers as a way to discuss the craft of making a TV series (and yeah, maybe getting a chance to show off your work to an audience). It is not a CBC sponsored event — in fact all of the screenings have been organized by an individual who belongs to the writer’s guild. As for the DMc stuff — you could only wish to be half as intelligent, insightful and constructive.

Anonycunt at 11:29, because I’m siccing my lawyer on two large oligopolistic organizations whose acronymous names begin with C. To be released shortly.

I am honest about everything and there aren’t two sides to me. What you see is what you get. Meanwhile, why don’t you heed the lessons of DMcG (his true initials, you failed to notice) and come up with something original?

How long would we have to wait for that? We’ll still be here nonetheless.

An additional advantage Fatboy and I share is signing our names to everything. Try it sometime.

Joe, you can’t tell me that with a straight face and expect me to retcon my own brain that way. Not given how often I bounce back and forth between Dead Things and Tea Makers.

OMG that comment chain is so funny! Hey Joe if you hate DMC so much, why not sic your lawyer on him!

Nice to see your true colours. (Canadian spelling and everything.)

  • Fake Ouimet says:

It was actually a well-phrased cheap shot. Quit acting all high and mighty. You can’t stand him either.

Anonycunt at 4:17, as a veganist, I am kind to goats. We’ve been over this before.

  • Dwight Williams says:

Filing this one under poorly-phrased cheap shots. You’re smarter than this sort of thing, and we all know it.

  • Fake Ouimet says:

Well, we could call him a short-fingered vulgarian instead, but the man who gave us Charlie Jade has been known to upbraid us for unoriginality, so let’s stick with what we’ve got.

If DMC has zero credibility with people who use schoolyard taunts unworthy of a fourth-grader, then that seems to be about right.

“Fat and bald”. Wow. Grow the fuck up. And perhaps you don’t like his work, or his opinions but “dumb as a doorknob”, is totally unfair. The cheap shots diminish this forum.

  • Fake Ouimet says:

Yeah, Vigilante, but so am I. Pot calling kettle beige and all that.

  • Anonymous says:

    and dumb as a doorknob

  • Vigilante says:

    Oh, I beg your pardon.

    “Follically Challenged”

  • Vigilante says:

Be nice, Fake Ouimet. He’s not fat, he’s bald.

Never seen people so bitter about not working somewhere. We don’t hear about this stuff either, you know. It’s also a WGC thing, not CBC.

  • Anonymous says:

    DMC has zero credibility.
