(You make us silent with those words, Jeffrey. And better people for having heard them. Thank you)

It was my deep privilege to work with Russ. I was nominally Russ’ manager at Radio News. In truth, he managed me by pointing out what was best about the service and how we could make it even better. Much has and will be said about how Russ was the keeper of the flame. My memory of him was as our guide, mentor and colleague to all of us who worked to bring the listeners the clearest understanding of our lives as citizens. Was that too much to ask? So long Russ.
