What you do:

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is looking to fill a full-time Traffic Clerk position (Radio Presentation) in Toronto with an independent and self-motivated candidate who is also a strong team player. This is an exciting opportunity to provide program scheduling and traffic services to vital CBC English Radio production and operations areas and to communicate with CBC producers across the country. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with problem-solving skills who can work in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment, and have excellent personal and communication skills, this job should be of interest to you.

The priority for this position is to create network and regional broadcast schedules, and produce the Network Radio Master Control switching schedule and distributing circuit orders to all CBC Radio Traffic representatives across the Network.

As well, the successful candidate will book and coordinate (leased) facilities for the distribution and collection of radio programs and program material for the English Radio Networks (Radio 1 and Radio 2), Sirius and the French Regional Networks (Premiere Chaine and Espace Musique).

Familiarity with traffic systems, Master Control automation systems and distribution and collection networks are assets.

What you bring:

  • The job requires graduation from Community College or the equivalent
  • Candidates should have at least two years’ of experience directly related to the area of potential assignment
  • A degree or diploma in Radio/TV Arts or Technology would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with radio program schedules, radio broadcast and production methods and Desktop radio/audio systems.
  • Knowledge of Schedule Link, Traffic Plus or other similar scheduling and resource management systems.
  • Knowledge of Master Control automation systems and distribution.
  • Knowledge of CBC Programming.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality work.
  • Highly motivated, ability to take on multiple and varied tasks and a track record of taking initiative.
  • Flexible and responsive to change.
  • Extremely detail and service oriented.
  • An ability to work well under pressure.
