Fonctions:

  • Radio-Canada Acadie is looking for a Program manager for Nova Scotia and Labrador.
  • Reporting to the Regional Director for Radio-Canada in Atlantic Canada.
  • You will be based in Halifax and supervise activities for the region: planning and organizing production, direction of human, financial and technical resources for Radio-Canada french production center in Halifax and the regional offices in these two provinces where you will represent Radio-Canada in the community.
  • You will colaborate with the information manager for news assignments and sports and cultural coverage for the region.
  • You will demonstrate leadership in evaluation and development of local and regional programs as well as evaluation and developement of personnal, to make sure local and regional programming meet preestablished expectations of the region and network.
  • In collaboration with the Regional Director, you will establish strategic objectives for programs, manage and control financial resources and look after evaluation and development of the personnel.

We are looking for a person with the following:

  • University degree or the equivalent in journalism or related fields and at least 4 years experience in a leadership/management role;
  • Knowledge of journalism and program production for radio, television and internet;
  • Knowledge of radio, television and web operations and experience in radio and television;
  • Experience in directing, evaluating and developping programs (radio and TV);
  • In depth knowledge of Radio-Canada policies : journalistic, programs, financial and human resources, and knowledge of the collective agreements;
  • Knowledge in effective management techniques and solid aptitude for finances;
    Creativity and aptitude to solve problems;
  • Excellent aptitude for communication and interpersonnal relations;
  • Hability to take complex decisions and to work on tight deadlines;
  • Knowledge of Radio-Canada, its mandate, its programming and its place in the information sector is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the realities of francophones in minority community is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of the Atlantic region is an asset;
  • Fluent in French (written and spoken) and good knowledge of English.
