Senior Remote Area Transmitter Technologist

- As a self-motivated and creative problem solver operating under minimal supervision, you will install, set up, operate, modify, repair and maintain transmission equipment, facilities and systems in the safest manner possible.
- You will also align and configure equipment and systems, including related software and revisions therein.
- Ensuring appropriate personnel are made aware of the changes, you will document repairs and regular preventative maintenance procedures, as well as prepare and correct documents, schematics, functional drawings, etc.
- A quick learner, you will carry out and help develop quality control procedures, methods and designs for better utilization of equipment.
This position requires a flexible schedule to occasionally work on the weekends and night shifts.
This position requires significant work outside in all weather conditions and in a largely unsupervised, remote environment.
Qualifications:
- You possess a two year broadcast, electronics, electrical, or telecommunications technology degree or diploma at an accredited educational institution, covering general knowledge regarding maintenance of equipment, systems and relevant software technologies.
- As well, you have four years practical and relevant experience.
- Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
- As such, you need five years of practical driving experience and the ability to operate all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles.
- Knowledge of both official languages, English and French, would be an asset.
