What you do:

For reference purposes, this position will be assigned mainly to the Information Radio , but the incumbent may be required to work on multiple platforms.

Provide news coverage for french services of Radio-Canada". Provide reports and interviews/talkbacks primarily for current/public affairs programs and newscasts. Contribute to other French Radio programming and other media of Radio-Canada.


  • University degree or general knowledge acquired by experience;
  • Ten (10) years’ experience in broadcast journalism (regular and feature reporting);
  • Ability to conduct interviews for broadcast;
  • Solid command of French;
  • Excellent knowledge of English;
  • Knowledge of a third language an asset;
  • In-depth knowledge of the history and politics of the area covered;
  • Knowledge of CBC’s journalistics standards and practices;
  • Comfortable behind the microphone;
  • High degree of independence/initiative;
  • Able to analyze, synthesize and think critically about complex topics;
  • Able to work well under pressure;
  • Solid command of communications techniques specific to radio, and of production and broadcasting techniques;
  • Available for frequent travel;
  • Valid driver’s licence;
  • Position requires the ability to adapt to difficult working conditions (e.g., long hours, unstable surroundings;
  • Candidates must pass a medical exam;
  • Candidates must submit a letter of interest before the selection committee meets.

Candidates may be subjected to knowledge and skills testing.
