The Greatest Show On Television Today

It is simply the best show on television today.
No, not the Lang & O’Leary Exchange, that’s close.
It’s the show on ITV that discovered the voices of Paul Potts and Susan Boyle – Britain’s Got Talent.
This clip shows the opening montage of a recent episode. To view it, experience it, is to see so much of what the CBC is not, yet could be.
A celebration of a people and a place, as well as great entertainment.
An immediate roller coaster of emotions and fun, that showcases the power of good editing and great music.
There’s only one clear way to explain and demonstrate what’s missing from the screens of our television sets in Canada, and that’s to see this clip.

    Not even close.
    You’ve not seen this show.
Talent shows and amateur hours broadcast on TV far pre-date The Gong Show.
    Gong was absurd.
This is the real thing. The heart of a country.
    Endorsed by Her Majesty herself!
Anyone would be proud to be a part of this production.

You do realize that this show and the countless others like it are just updated versions of “The Gong Show”, don’t you? For the sake of CanCon, I’ll add that “Tiny Talent Time” was doing this same shite 5o+ years ago.
