Do celebrities ever wonder if their use of human suffering to augment their career backfires, and that their insulting sanctimony actually diminishes their stature?
It’s all theatre. A celebrity will have their publicist announce that they’ve made a million dollar donation to Haiti but they never announce that said celeb is writing off the entire donation at tax time so in actual fact they aren’t actually donating anything and the government is the one picking up the tab.
