Always thinking of how to make a bigger profit, the CBC knows a good show when they see it.
And they know how to improve it.
Get rid of the Canadians.
After viewing the pilot episode of Republic of Doyle, CBC programmers were so enthusiastic with the show that they decided to give the go-ahead for more.
But with a twist.
Replace an excellent cast with foreign actors, in order to maximize potential profitability and overseas sales.
No reflection on the cast, just a reflection of CBC management’s priorities.
For the CBC, it’s a matter of supporting the arts in Canada and making a profit.
Or rather, the other way around.
Have we had enough yet of the CBC treating the country as second class?
Wait for their announcement, and explanation, later this week.

Again.
What BS?
I don’t know where you got this BS from.
The worst part of next season’s announcement isn’t Republic of Doyle, it’s a “Leah McLaren biopic”. OMG why? I only read her column if I need to produce some bile. Even the people who work with her can’t stand her.
Care to clarify the error?
Wow, what a shock. Allan gets something wrong again. Guess the intel at the marina isn’t what it used to be.
