Name one thing that was announced today that isn’t bullshit. Come on, I dare you.

It would certainly help if the CBC provided a hard copy of what was said today.
So that we can all know all the facts, instead of just the few facts that a newspaper always prints, or the even fewer facts that we get from TV and radio (upon all three of which the internet still relies).
The CBC is a public service, like the Post Office, and it’s apparent that that service is about to change.
Would you mind telling us exactly how, Hubert?
For the sake of the country, show us your efficiencies.

I wrote what I heard, Kev, which, for 40% of the session, involved NSA levels of forensic transcription.

A liveblog does not attempt to square itself with subsequent facts or documents. It’™s an edited transcript, not an article in the Britannica. Do you think a court transcript should change a defendant’™s plea of not guilty if a guilty verdict is reached?

Unhelpful and unwanted as ever, Kev ’“ surely your epitaph.

Actually, that entry contains a bunch of mistakes and inaccuracies, the most obvious of which being the asset sales bullet point, which he hasn’t bothered to fix.

    don’t be so humble joe.
This blog happens to be the greatest CBC blog EVER!

Step back for a moment, and look around the internet.
Where tonight can a CBC employee, an interested citizen, go to read details about today’s announcement? Where is the most thorough information available at this moment?
Answer – in a blog post by joe clark, LIve blogger extraordinaire!
His is the best accounting of what was said that’s in existence anywhere in the universe.
As good as that achievement was by joe, I would still really like to see a certified account.

And isn’t the ability to provide full documentation the very best use of the internet?
Where is the CBC on that tonight?

Anonymous at 9:41, I draw your attention to many comments and a couple of postings from last summer, in which readers were advised that no ancienne formulation Tea Makers was ever going to be restored. I have my nostalgic moments too, but I invite you to stop living in the past.

But you are whining that you don’t have information that hasn’t been made public yet, decisions that won’t impact you nearly as much as the people being laid off, who know nothing.

Your sound like a gossipy teenager.

At at time like this a website like this could be really useful, if wasn’t half filled of stupid posts like these.

This site was so much better when it was actually filled with real posts by real informed people.

Stop the whining. Just wait like everyone else, I am sure you will the first person people let know.

Not all of the information on the internet is journalism.

You couldn’t do a proper arts or music show at current staffing levels without the internet. You’d have to burn a lot more time reading press and making phone calls.

Would you like me to explain other current practices in broadcasting?

    1. But isn’t The Point of the post to say that I want my rants to be informed rants before I stand up to speak in the court of public opinion.

    2. Yeah, like I’ve never worked in radio. And where does the internet steal their stuff from? Thin air? Blogs? Twitter?
What item did you steal that came from a non-newspaper/TV/radio source? And then put on the air?????
    A quote from me?

  • Anonymous says:

…”or the even fewer facts that we get from TV and radio (upon all three of which the internet still relies).”

if you worked in, say, Radio Arts, you’d know that we steal information from the internet pretty much all day. Stop acting like an expert.

  • Anonymous says:

Because they haven’t announced anything beyond the specifics mentioned in the articles.

That is happening in regions in the next few days.

The people who are going to be affected haven’t even heard.

Just wait a few days, then you will have plenty to feed your uninformed rants.
