Free pizza (also: stop the sellout)

If there’s one thing a CBCer loves more than complaining, it’s free food.

You can get a bellyful of both in Simcoe Park on Thursday from noon to 2, as part of the CMG’s stop the sellout campaign. There were posters for the event all over the TBC this morning, but they seem to have “been disappeared.”

Can the sellout even be stopped? More importantly, can we masticate our way to solvency?

Maybe we should sell out to ourselves? One idea CMG is floating is running the design department as an autonomous freelance shop, with the CBC as its biggest customer. Sounds like a wonderful idea to me. Won’t Air Farce and Mercer Report want to hire these people back anyways?

I will be there, vigorously chomping in solidarity. Just remember: it’s not polite to take umbrage with your mouth full.

Careful now- CBC mgnt might at first look like they would accept a freelance shop deal to help take the heat off the issue but once in place they probably will just walk away from the deal as they do with other existing freelancer contracts after signing. Didn`t another corp called Bell Canada do the same in the past with a certain employee division and re-nig on the deal after the fact. It was in court for years.
I also heard that a few days ago the french VP of Tv spoke and is saying that they are now looking at going back to producing in-house because of some outside produced shows now costing more to air than before. So it seems we have a President`s left French ear not connected to his English right ear ! Does this mean we are not in stereo !!!!!

Really? Where did the posters go?

I’m not sure if they can stop the sellout anyway, pizza or no. The layoffs have already happened, after all, do they think someone is going to change their mind?
