WANTED: More tea makers

I am not sure how much I’ll be writing in the upcoming weeks. It’s not what you’re thinking. It’s a long, strange story and kind of hard to explain.

But rather than shut the site down or let it rot, I’m going to open it up. There are a lot of people posting comments heer who might be interested in taking a crack at being a real blogger, just like me.

So here’s the deal: send me an email at cbcteamakers@hotmail.com and let me know your email address. If you posted any comments on this site let me know which ones, so i know who I’m dealing with.

I will set you up so you can log into blogger.com and post whatever you want to the Tea Makers home page.

I would prefer some people who are still working in here, or any CBC location. That is, managers or APS or contract owrkers or cleaning staff. But I’m not picky. Prescient Digital hacks and management plants need not apply, but aside from that, anyone is welcome. I’m not going to edit anything, so you can go nuts.

We have to run this like a splinter cell – I don’t want to know your real name, and I’m not telling you mine. Go to hotmail.com and get a new email address for this – it’s free. Choose the name of a former CBC president or a guy from Radio 3 that everyone hates, just to make it interesting.

Thousands of people are reading this web site every day, including the SMC, CMG head honchos, CBC nerds, the negotiators, assorted media pundits, and plenty of people locked out and locked in.

Your audience is waiting.

Nice idea. Give all the money for the CBC to medicare.

Who’s going to keep an eye on that money, and do research and make sure it’s being well spent and interview people who work in the health care system to see what they think?

I guess we could trust private networks like CTV to do that. They only occasionally report that people are dead when they are in actual fact still alive. We can trust them.

Well, I’m not coming unless Cathy Sprague jumps up on a table and says

“SEE!!! I told you we’d die on this hill.”

  • Matt Watts says:

    Fine, be that way.

But I’m revealing my secret identity once this is all over.

Guys, if this thing lasts – which I think it will – I will be back.

But don’t expect any big “ta daa!” reveal at the end – I’m not planning on outing myself online. Although I’m considering a small meeting for martinis when this is all over. ID’s will be checked at the door to make sure no one has a red one. Cathy Sprague will be invited as long as she buys the first round.

I already have a few tea makers signed up, too. Stay tuned.

RE: give the money to medicare. Do you really think the gov’t would funnel the money into anything but their own pockets?? Get real.

I think the CBC should be shut down and the money given to Medicare. Think of all the waiting lists that could be shortened with an extra $1 billion dollars a year. The average nurse’s salary was $51,800 (http://tinyurl.com/clbbf). That would give Canada approximately 19,300 more nurses for Medicare.

If you had to choose between the CBC and private medical system or no CBC and Medicare what would you do? Our current system is unconstitutional according to the charter of rights and Supreme court. The government has to use it’s scarce resources wisely.

it concerns me a bit that you’re giving up your blog – i can’t help but wonder why. after 4 weeks on a picket line, it’s easy to conjure up any number of scenarios.

    Ouimet,

You’ll be missed. Whether by likeminded co-workers or flying eggs I do not know.

Will we ever find out who you really are?

I hope you’re opting out because you think the lockout will be over soon – or – perhaps you are needed on the expanded newscast. Hope to see you before Jan. 2005
