That hype for the Tod Maffin iPhone app should hv been tightened up a bit before posting.
And you're right - he's losing his grip on reality. "Quickly emerging as a leading authority on the Facebook Generation..." ????? No one besides Tea Makers even knows his name.
He, is however, quickly emerging as a leading authority on warmed-over SEO tactics. I find it interesting that FaceBook banned him as a scammer. They knew he was up to something, they just couldn't figure out what.
http://todmaffin.com/banned_facebook
For some unknown and clearly arbitrary reason, the gods at Facebook banned my account for running “abusive” ads. The essence of the message above is: “You tried to post an abusive ad. We’ve banned you. There’s nothing you can do about it. Now go away.”
This is bizarre to me. The only campaigns I’ve run are simple and certainly not abusive. Naturally, the Advertising Guidelines they’ve posted don’t help an iota. Under Facebook’s rules, one can’t post an ad that contain “political agendas,” that “advocates against any organization,” or is “grammatically [in]correct and [doesn't] contain proper sentence structure.”
Clearly arbitrary! And, their advertising guidelines are not helpful. So, it's FaceBook's fault, they don't understand the FaceBook Generation like Tod does.
What does Tod's app do? And why does the description have no apostrophes?
"Reach Mobile Users with the MotherApp BlogEngine
MotherApp’s BlogEngine is the amazing tool that converts your blog and tweets into a native iPhone app in minutes with zero coding.
Simply enter your RSS feed URL, Twitter name and a description of your blog, then upload two images and voilà – you’ve created your very own iPhone app!
MotherApp takes care of submitting the app to Apple for approval and notifies you when it’s available for download.
It’s that easy!"
Sounds like "MotherCRApp."
Allan, why give so much power to someone? Why waste so much time on someone you dislike so much?
Just curious.
I like your writing. However, your obsession with one individual makes for a weak case, and hard to take you seriously :( Not sure if anyone has told you that.
You say Tod just uses other peoples thoughts, but you are doing the exact same thing. All your stuff is a commentary on someone elses work.
and trashing someone publicly and regularly is just not cool.
I want to answer your worthwhile comment, but it's kind of a long story.
But to be brief - I'm just having a laugh at his expense while being quite serious about the way Tod uses the internet and words to exaggerate his qualifications and accomplishments.
The way he twist facts and sets himself up as an expert on so many subjects while pulling it all out of his ass - he's asking for it.
Tod has always been making an effort to gather around him the illusion of being a powerful voice and influence on matters relating to the CBC.
I think he's devious, mean-spirited and self-centered.
He embodies the spirit of the world Orwell warned us about in 1984 where those in charge set out to censor and then re-write history to suit and support their own selfish and perverted agenda.
You do realize that for the last few years Tod has been "quickly emerging as a leader" - hey, a thought leader! - by his own estimation! and no one elses.
When I see such nonsense being spread on the internet by him then yes, I'm moved to put up the odd post pointing to the contradictions and BS that he's disseminating.
It's rare that I post about Tod and generally use the blog that I've set aside just for him.
Doesn't he deserve a blog about him? At least there I don't have to please anyone but myself and can pretend what it would be like to create copy for Mad magazine with him as the topic.
It's been good clean fun for me.
He provides a lot of material - such a freakin' drama queen.
Remember when he erased all his content and accounts from the internet and some people were worried that he was on the verge of suicide?
Now that's comedy!
Meanwhile, Tod's smile is bigger than ever and his employment prospects are looking good these days.
A telling indicator itself of how gullible otherwise intelligent people can be.
Also, he does have something to contribute, but not to the outlandish extent he bills himself as capable of providing.
Hope that helps a bit.
Appreciate the tone of your comment.
torture yourself
skinny white guy with glasses comes out of the closet
over-produced DNTO clip
Wow, that is fucking terrible!
But look where it comes from - the absolutely horrid DNTO - where everyone over-enunciates and tries to tell shitty, boring slice-of-life stories. It's like a b-grade version of THIS AMERICAN LIFE.
You can practically see the stink lines coming off this dreck!
reading Tod's current YouTube profile.
He's still with the CBC?

"Tod is a national broadcaster, popular podcaster"? He only put that in because it rhymes.
Tod obviously has no idea what a "national broadcaster" is and "popular podcaster" is an oxymoron.
Did Nazim read Tod Maffin's Wikipedia entry?
There's a certain similarity in ... style ...

Nazim Gillani boasts his ability to get a deal done is “second to none” in North America. With a database of one billion investors worldwide, he claims his company – International Strategic Investments – has made gold out of almost every project it has touched. He’s got $600 million in assets tucked away. He says his friends include Robert DeNiro’s son. Gillani says he was once on the cover of Billboard Magazine.
According to Gillani’s own documents, “my client base is 1800 deep,” all high net worth clients. The Star was unable to verify this. In a document announcing Gillani as chief executive officer of International Strategic Investments (ISI), he lists 24 companies he has been involved with on various stock exchanges and he has “almost always” been responsible for taking the stock to its highest level in a single year.
“He has extensive experience in raising funds for various projects utilizing an array of financial instruments. He has a broker dealer network, which is second to none in North America, and currently ISI has a database of over 1 billion retail investors worldwide,” according to a document Gillani prepared.
