I didn't think anyone could be snobbier than Jian. Now I know it IS possible: Mark Kelley & his bagels....
And yet more evidence of CBC nepotism ?? His wife is also in the business; she was his producer when he worked in Halifax. Is anyone at the CBC independent?

The writer doesn't elaborate on what "rapidly becoming the Anderson Cooper of the north" means and he only adds to the confusion by mentioning that Mark is married (to a woman) and has 4 kids.

It means, for the purpose of justifying the fluff piece, that somebody out there is interested in watching his show.

Kelly is average in every way - except in his own mind, but that won't be enough to be anything near an Anderson Cooper - what a silly joke.

As a journalism student who was able to spend 8 hours with him the other day, I strongly disagree with this egotistical ethos you all see him presenting live on his show.
His humble words and actions convinced me otherwise.
Is it really enough to judge a person's character based off of an hour on a current affairs show?
Maybe it's time we stop judging, and take a look in the mirror before saying harsh comments. A journalist's job is much more stressful than assumed. I give him props for not losing his sanity yet.

I cannot stand this man. He is just so insincere, patronizing and obnoxious. He says awkward things to people that he is interviewing in a lame attempt to get a specific answer. You can see what he is trying to make the person say and some of the people he is interviewing catch on to him quickly, you can see them react to him. He is repellent.
The best word is "phoney" He is a big "phoney".

Since one can only GUESS about the inner workings of a person they see occasionally on the screen, why not "guess" on the positive side.
