CBC Radio TV commercial 1986

  1. Don't you love the goofy lack of pretention & slick marketing where everyone is just so "cool" that is ubiquitous now?

  2. The good ol' days when CBC was AWESOME and soooo uniquely Canadian!!

  3. Yes, before American celebrities & American stories became the flavour of the week.

  4. And, before the 'all ego, no talent' hosts that the CBC has today.

  5. That ad campaign was around for a while. I have a 1989 CBC Radio commercial in the same style, but centred around Peter Gzowski.

The 1986 ad is far better than the current CBC Radio 2 commercials, which feature idealized target demos "discovering" "new" music. They're better than random shots of the number 2, but not by much. CBC Radio One commercials are always shot of host, studio shot, graphics, so they don't even count.
