Radio Producer / Réalisateur Radio (Temporary) - IQA00025

As a Radio Producer, your primary objective is to plan, conceive, organize, and/or develop the production and realization of the English and Inuktitut language morning show broadcast from Iqaluit, Nunavut.
You will demonstrate success in this role by conceiving and developing program ideas, concepts and content,including assigning, researching, gathering, interviewing, writing and/or editing. Your work in these regards will determine the style, pace, tempo, line-up and format of the program. You will exercise editorial responsibility as delegated by Management and will evaluate all facets of the production of the morning radio program, production personnel, and freelance contributors.
This is currently a two-month temporary position.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Clear willingness and ability to work in a unique, bilingual (Inuktitut/English) program format
- Radio show production experience and experience in daily journalism.
- Strong team player, with demonstrated ability to function effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team staff and contributors.
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to take on tasks necessary to production of a bilingual program in a remote northern location.
- A strong interest and potential to develop skills to analyze information, organize it and present it clearly.
- An ability to work quickly under pressure to meet deadline.
- An aptitude for working with computers and technical equipment
- A demonstrated interest in the social, political and cultural life of Nunavut, the North and Canada
