Hi,
Hope you’re having a golden summer wherever you may be… Been working like mad on the launch of season seven of the tv show and the radio show. Lots of changes in the works… I think you’re going to dig what the team is coming up with. Including changing the name of the TV show. I’m thinking of calling it ‘The Jeffersons’ but CBC isn’t really going for that.

Regardless, this page is being shut down soon (Fer real). Now, I know people hate to move, but this is an easy one, so if you are up it, I’ll be at a new fb page. Work, life, and horoscopes (kidding obv). And much doper (read: dumber profile pics as evidenced below)

Click the link below.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/George-Stroumboulopoulos/122050631163442?ref=ts

Piece,
GSx.

PS… Don’t go see The last Airbender… That movie made me hate life.
Go see ‘Cyrus’ instead.

Hi, aside from wandering the streets in search of the best Grilled Cheese Sandwhich. This is where you can find me…. The Hour (We’re thinking about changing the name) Weeknights at 11:05 on CBC TV (TV/ONLINE) The Strombo Show. Sunday nights 8p-Midnight on CBC Radio 2 (RADIO/ONLINE)

Another gem George wrote on his page:

George Stroumboulopoulos Hi. Welcome to the new page… Please tell your friends and enemies – well, use your judgement, don’t tell your crazy friends. This is where I’ll be, like TRON locked in this profile. By the by, if you haven’t heard the new album by ‘The National’ you need to get on that (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfySK7CLEEg). Merci/gracias… GSx

PS… I want to start a backgammon tournament and televise it like they do with poker.

- right George, so no one can watch it like with your show … whatever it’s called.

Howard Stern said it best. He questioned why other radio DJ’s never gave him any props. Other radio shows would pretend they never listened to him, or worse, they denied that he was a talent who carved out a new path for radio. They denied that they liked his show when in reality they were big fans. The truth is, they could never be Howard, not even close. They weren’t smart enough to run a show like his; and they were envious at all the fun and laughs Howie and his wack pack had while still being an important and serious media personality.

That is what we have in the blogosphere, a bunch of playa haters. There are those CBCers and others, who read TeaMakers and deny it, and then there are the people who pretend that our blog doesn’t matter when they know it does. Some people love to act like we are a three-ring circus, but it’s organized chaos over here. Should we apologize for having fun while still breaking important stories ? The downfall of these other blogs is that they try too hard to be taken seriously and over-estimate their importance.

As mentioned, what makes TeaMakers different from the other blogs is that we don’t take ourselves too seriously, while dealing with (sometimes) serious subjects. Right now, I want to take these other blogs down a notch or two, and you best believe they are reading it.

I call this section ”The Bloggies”. Similar to the Razzies.

5) Strombo

It’s almost insulting when it says “preparing site content” and you have to wait.

4) The Stroumboulopouli

It’s a love site for George. Enough said. Run by Barbara Wheel – no mean comments about George ever get through.

3) Inside CBC

What the hell is this ? It’s so stupid. It’s like you trying to write a tell all expose book about yourself. You may reveal little things about yourself, but not enough to make yourself look stupid. So, umm, what’s the point ? You may talk about how you got rejected by babes in highschool, but you’re not gonna talk about the peanut butter jar and the new puppy you just got. You can go inside the CBC a bit, but no deep penetration like with TeaMakers.

2) Small Dead Things on Sticks

Who the FUCK does this puffy faced clown think he IS ? He actually has the audacity to link “brain-dead idiot” to a story he read here. I’m sorry writer boy, but you are a no one ! Why can’t people post that you are an idiot ? Instead my comment has to wait to be approved and no one is allowed to disagree with Lord puffy face. You make me sick. If you go to the right hand section of his blog he makes is clear he gets paid money to write for TV. Well buddy, congratulations, it’s called a JOB and we all have one. But, how much money is clown face really getting paid to “write TV” because if you scroll further down he begs for money. What an absolute piece of shit begging for money on his shit fuckin’ blog. I hate when people beg for money like that, I guess this clown is ripping a page from my friend Joe’s book.

1) Tod Maffin

I am still flabbergasted he blocked me from Twitter. I don’t know what I said that was so bad that I deserved to be blocked ! I think it was when I questioned him about being a “futurist” or when I told him that Todd sounds like the name of someone with a small penis. But Todd is so much more than just a mere futurist. He is a strategist, consultant, author and speaker. You can also inquire about a date with him as well, YUM !

Last night just wasn’t my night. I must have said something that ticked George off. Perhaps it was when I enquired what his publicist does exactly. I merely mentioned there was a particular fan that seemed to be doing much more for George then his publicist is; and that George doesn’t even give her a thank you for her hard work. The work she does that his publicist doesn’t do can be viewed here. Not much, but requires more work than just tweeting, which is all his publicist seems to do.

This morning I see the famous “you have been blocked from following this member” message on George’s Twitter account when I tried to re-follow him. Not since I sent a tweet to someone telling him I thought it was queer a man in his 30′s had a Tumblr account have I been blocked !

I tweeted this –

I then asked Ouimet to retweet it, because I realized George would not be able to read tweets from me since I was blocked.

Superstar “bad boy” George can’t take anyone questioning him, can he ? Strombo is like a tucked and taped tranny, he only wants his balls to show in front of the camera. In real life, they are raisins.

George attracts much more aggressive fans than me. SmuttySteff and crew are much more bold than I am !

Here is a myriad of posts about George, (none which require her to be blocked let’s note).

SmuttySteph’s friend, Mr_Tits_Pervert responds to her in excitement !

Other friends of SmuttySteff repond.

SmuttySteff gets more responses.

Some people can’t wait to be part of such a prestigious audience.

You know those people you hate just by looking at them ?

That is how I always felt about Bob. I was first introduced to him from George’ s old radio show on The Edge. I hated him for some reason. He had this pompous aura about him. Then, I saw some photos of him and I hated him even more. His curls were so unruly. How dare he have unruly curly hair all disheveled like he doesn’t even care that society prefers straight hair.

I thought Bob sounded so much older than George even though they are around the same age. I know George isn’t the beacon of maturity but in contrast to Bob it was a father-son duo on air. Bob would always talk about “grown-up music”. What is that, Bob ? Are you talking down to me ?

Bob had to leave George’s Edge show when a conflict of interest came in to play and Bob began working at another radio station that competed with Edge. No worries, Bob is back to being the sideshow on George’s “spirit of radio” extravaganza, right where he belongs. But, he also has his own show on CBC Radio 2 in the morning.

My problem with Bob, besides his hair, is that he sounds so damn old ! I do like him now that I’ve listened to him a bit more as I was doing research for this piece. I don’t think he is really as pompous as I orginally thought. Sideshow Bob has talked about his wife, having a baby, and being emotional about that and the raising of his new daughter. He does seem very nice. But, this grown-up music stuff, buddy give that a break ! You don’t play the Moffats or Justin Beiber, that’s not your bit. Shouldn’t it all be grown up music then, or is Bob the only mature one around here ? With George, he does a segment called a sad-off where they play two songs in George’s basement and decide which one is sadder. Ugh ! Why don’t they just play a game of gay chicken like you know they want to.

If Bob is so old and sad and mature why does he host a morning radio show when people need to be woken up and entertained on their drive to work ? I listened to it one morning and it was nothing special. All other radio shows in the morning try to put livelier people as that is the prime time for radio. That is when Howard Stern is on, and in Toronto they put MadDog and Billy and that brood Erin Davis on. Maybe they’re not the best of the best, but unlike Bob they won’t play grown up music that will put you right back to bed.

Let’s not start with the obvious (the “brooding hipster” host), that would be too easy.

Instead, let’s talk about how this doesn’t seem to be much different then any other documentary about World War 2 that I’ve seen, except instead of one or two boring hours this docu-series goes on for six boring hours. Is this really necessary, I mean REALLY? The content is interesting, but that doesn’t give any credit to the producers because the quality is lacking. This could easily be something I watched in history class years ago when I was in highschool. The same black and white clips, the same experts with accents from England sitting in front a boring grey backdrop.

Speaking of backdrops, George is standing in a set that looks like it’ s the same set Diane Buckner stands in front of on the Dragon’s Den. I wonder why they choose George? His young voice seems like a mismatch for this particular topic, and it seems to be the only difference between this documentary and the one’s I’ve watched in highschool. I chuckle to myself as I think, is George learning about the war as he narrates ? It must be hard for him to sound like an authoritative figure on this subject, when we watch him try his hand at comedy five days a week on The Hour. I turn to Twitter to gain real-time perspectives on George’s hosting abilities, most of the feedback is good, but this one Tweet made me laugh -

“Is anyone else watching Love, Hate and Propoganda doc on CBC hosted by @strombo? So creepy. Especially since @strombo‘s voice is so calm…”

Looks like other people were taken aback by his casual, laid back delivery.

At least he tries to look serious.

His lack of authority summons up a kind of “learn a-long with George” feeling, but then again he is just the narrator and he has a nice sounding voice. George explains why he signed on in an interview stating:

I initially didn’t really see where I could bring something different, because so many documentaries have been done really well before. But then the idea came of dealing with propaganda, and how the war was sold, and how the world came not just to the brink of madness but to a colossal state of madness, and it was all through messaging.

Really now? Do you really think the other documentaries didn’t pursue the topic of the propaganda used to sway a country to want to exterminate a whole race of people? I would say, most of the documentaries heavily focus on this fact because it is the most unbelievable, unimaginable thing to fathom that Hitler could persuade people to commit such heinous crimes. That one man could gain such mind control over a nation to begin one of the most brutal genocides in history. The mind control aspect of this war is in fact much more interesting than any other aspect that pertains to the WWII many would argue. Has George been hiding away with Anne Frank?

George goes on to say “There was just a lot of stuff I didn’t know.” Yeah, no kidding.

Photo 1) Hosting the Haiti Telethon event - Friday 22nd.

Photo 2) Hosting the Test the Nation event – Sunday 24th.

Same exact outfit. Do you think George did the laundry on Saturday ? I mean, c’mon you spend a whole Friday night in the suit under hot studio lights, running around and then you go and wear the same thing on Sunday ! That is kind of gross.

On an equally important side note.

While some celebrities were there to make a difference and lend their name to a good cause … some were not there for the best reasons. I won’t say their hearts weren’t pure, but at best they were there to kill two birds with one stone. They were there to support a good cause and for shameless self promotion. Oh, but you weren’t allowed to speak were you David. So what do you do ? You wear the loudest pink shirt you can find and you pair it with the ugliest shiniest vest in the world. I have never seen a group of celebrities so aware of where a camera was positioned and so ready if the mic were to be pointed in their face.
