Contract position from August 2010 to June 2011

What you do:

Employee hired by the Corporation to research and develop content for the morning show, in keeping with its mandate.

This development work may include researching, gathering, and analyzing information required to prepare your feature segments. Draft briefing notes and interview questions for program hosts. Attend production meetings. Propose program topics, features, story angles and guests. Conduct short interviews for your feature segment. Perform rough editing for the radio. May also be required to draft questions for games or contests. Screen calls from the public and respond to requests for information as needed.

We’re looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
  • Two years’ experience performing related duties
  • Able to work well alone or on a team
  • Good knowledge of the Atlantic region
  • Very good knowledge of research tools and techniques
  • Fluency in French (spoken and written) and very good knowledge of English
  • Knowledge of interview techniques
  • Advanced general knowledge

Other:

  • Able to analyze, synthesize and think critically
  • Able to discuss a topic clearly
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Comfortable on air
  • Excellent diction

Candidates may be subject to skills and general-knowledge testing.
